Melrose Place is back to its old dirty tricks. The CW’s forthcoming reboot of the classic ’90s sudser will launch this fall with the kind of bombshell revelation that would make Kimberly Shaw’s legendary scar bust open. Unfortunately, unlike that iconic cliffhanger, there ain’t a chance in hell this twist will remain unspoiled before it airs in September. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if this thing leaks in the next week or so. Or today. Or right now after the jump. (Yes, that was your warning. Seriously, this is a gigantic spoiler, so head for the exit if you don’t want to know the bombshell at the center of Melrose 2.0.)The Melrose pilot — snippets of which were unveiled to advertisers at The CW’s upfront presentation this morning — has been shrouded in the kind of secrecy more typical of an episode of Lost than a trashy primetime soap. “The pilot script isn’t being released to anyone — not even to writers who are meeting on the show,” an industry insider recently whispered. “There’s apparently some twist involving Sydney that they’re trying to keep under wraps.”
It’s under wraps no more: Someone murdered Sydney! Again!
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the dead body found floating face down in Melrose’s trademark pool in the opening minutes belongs to none other than Laura Leighton’s bitchtastic ex-stripper. I’m told her death will set in motion a season-long murder mystery that finds nearly all of the show’s principal characters — particularly Syd’s ex, Michael (Thomas Calabro) — a possible suspect.
I know what you’re probably thinking: They brought Sydney back to life only to kill her off in the first 10 minutes?! Sorta. Yes, she dies (for real) right out of the gate, but Leighton will be sticking around. An insider confirms that Sydney will be seen via flashback in multiple episodes. Said flashbacks will explain where’s she’s been and what really happened after she became road kill more than a decade ago.
I know what you’re also probably thinking: Is this the story Heather Locker was pitched and ultimately turned down? Yes, that was supposed to be Amanda Woodward’s bloodied corpse floating in the pool. But when Locklear nixed the offer, producers approached Leighton. (Mystery solved: Locklear killed Sydney!)

Women in the world are standing up and being inspired by Michell Obama. Articles about her clothes, arms, parenting, and gardens abound. What is she doing for Women? What is she doing for women of the world?
Grade school children were screaming and crying when Michell Obama let them hug her in Europe. Girls want to be Michell Obama when they grow up. Women are holding their heads up high, in a world where attitudes about women have to change. Mothers are proud of their daughters and not feeling disgraced about having daughters. How can this be? How can one woman, who married a man have this impact on the world? “Well behaved women rarely make history” but what if well educated, dressed, strong and happy women do?
What if you don’t have to be misbehaving to give women in the world hope. Hope is free, it is something for people to hold on. It is your guiding light with in a world of chaos an horrors. Michell Obama is not ashamed of being a mother to daughters; a woman with a figure; an educated woman; a woman who made more than her husband; a woman.
Maybe Michell Obama is what we need for the women in the world to stand up and say enough. We will be educated, we will educate our daughters, we are not going to stand for this anymore. We will stand next to our husbands, not behind them, we will show are arms , we will and we can.
How cool is this? The US National White Water Center, USNWC goes solar! With the help of Cyclone Roofing in Indian Trail, NC solar film is being installed on the roof of the building to create their own power. The unit is going to be connected to a touch screen monitor in their meeting facilities that will have live updates on the power created, carbon off sets used, etc.
The Greenest place to play is opening up a whole new chapter in their history. So if you needed another reason to go and check it out; now add checking out solar film to reduce carbon foot print!
I don’t understand why Ms. California won’t go away. Her YouTube video and her radio interviews are driving me batty. What is an opposite marriage, someone please explain? And just because you say no offense doesn’t mean it isn’t offensive. She did have one thing right, we live in America where you can choose. So let people choose for themselves, legalizing discrimination doesn’t help make choices.
If you really want to get down and dirty about the issue, The state California voted to legalize discrimination. How can the California Supreme Court uphold a vote for discrimination. How sad is that, California a large state in this USA, (top 10 economy in the world) voted to discriminate when they are in the worst budget crunch in recent years. (hello marriage taxes)
Ms. California you wouldn’t bother me so much if you had a rational reason for not allowing same sex marriage. However, opposite marriage, my family, and my religion aren’t working for me. If you want to talk about same sex marriage then lets talk about it. Separate an Equal didn’t work in education, health care or transportation why would you think it is going to work now?
You don’t have to believe in it, agree with it, or participate in it, but isn’t that why we love being Americans? Isn’t that why millions of people fight to come to this country to be free, to be who they want to be. I didn’t think the American Dream had a race, religion, or sexual orientation defined for it.
Maybe Ms. California is putting same sex marriage back on the discussion board and maybe she should be thanked for that. However, when you verbalize that you believe in discrimination you don’t deserve your 2 minutes of fame.

The Quail Hollow Golf Championship is in full swing! The Pro-Am starts today and is already a success! The former Wachovia Championship has raised over $9.4 million for charity, and is recognized as one of the top events on the PGA TOUR. The 6 million dollar purse also helps.
The tournament started in 2003 and has brought some of the top names in golf! Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia, Vijay Singh, Davis Love II, you get the picture. This golf tournament in South Charlotte has done wonders for the economy too. Even in this 2009, year of (fill in adjective) the golf tournament is only down 10% on sponsors and they still hope to donate close to 2 million this year to Teach for America.
With the high profile names in town, Charlotte’s hotels, restaurants, B&Bs, and transportation industries all get a nice little bump in this 2009 year of (insert your adjective hear). So if you get stuck in extra traffic, lane closures, or can’t even get into your own neighborhood, it is a small inconvenience for what this little golf tournament does for our region.
